Governance

The FIA European Principal Traders Association operates as a chapter of the Futures Industry Association.

The FIA EPTA has its own governance structure. The management and control of the association is under the direction of the FIA EPTA executive committee. The executive committee is composed of representatives of principal trading member firms. Officers of the executive committee include a chairman and a vice chairman. The executive committee and officers are elected at the FIA EPTA’s annual meeting. A firm may have no more than one representative on the executive committee.

The FIA EPTA’s executive committee consists of Jan Dezort (RSJ a.s.), Rik Ghijsels (IMC), Remco Lenterman (Citadel Securities Europe Ltd.), Alan McGroarty (Spire Europe), Christiaan Scholtes (Virtu Financial), Mark Spanbroek (independent), and Willem Sprenkeler (Optiver VOF). Remco Lenterman serves as the association's  chairman.

The FIA EPTA will operate under the governance structure of the FIA. The FIA is governed by a 30-person board of directors that includes representatives from more than 15 “regular” member firms or futures commission merchants. The FIA board sets the agenda of the FIA and oversees and coordinates the activities of the FIA EPTA.
